What Is Songdo Marine Cable Car?

Songdo Marine Cable Car is in southern Busan. The nearest subway station is Jagalchi Station (Line 1) — one stop from Nampo-dong.

The cable car connects two stations: Bay Station (베이스테이션 — ocean side) and Sky Park (스카이파크 — Amnam Park side). You can board at either end.

Round-trip is the standard, but one-way is possible too — Sky Park has a bus stop if you want to continue from there. Gondolas rise up to 86 metres above the water, with sweeping views of Songdo Beach, Yeongdo Island, Hinjeouru Cultural Village — and on a clear day, all the way to Tsushima Island (Japan).

💡 Go for the Crystal Cruise. It’s only ₩5,000 more than the standard ticket — and looking straight down through the glass floor at the sea 86m below is a completely different experience. My full ride report is below, but the short version: don’t skip the upgrade.

Opening hours: 9:00–21:00 daily (last ticket sold 30 minutes before closing).

The cable car may suspend operations in strong winds or severe weather. Check the official website on the day if conditions look uncertain.

How to Get Tickets: On-Site vs. Klook Pre-Book

There are two ways to buy. Here’s an honest breakdown:

① On-site (vending machine or staffed counter)

Ticket vending machine at Bay Station

Tickets are sold on the ground floor of Bay Station — both at a staffed counter and vending machines. The machines have multilingual menus (English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese), so they’re easy to use. Credit card only (no cash). If the place isn’t busy, buying on-site is perfectly fine.

② Pre-book on Klook (recommended for weekends & peak season)

On weekends, public holidays, and during tourist season, the ticket counter can get busy. Klook lets you pay in advance and skip straight to the entrance with a QR code. Cancellation is free before you redeem the voucher — handy if the weather looks uncertain.

Getting There from Jagalchi Station (Line 1)

Most visitors start at Bay Station on the ocean side. Both bus and taxi from Jagalchi Station are easy options.

By Bus — ₩1,550

Take a bus from Jagalchi Station and get off at “Amnamdong Community Center” (암남동주민센터), then walk about 10 minutes to the cable car.

Board: Chungmudong Intersection bus stop (Jagalchi Station Exit 2)

From Exit 2, walk straight, cross the pedestrian crossing to the opposite pavement, and you’ll immediately find the “Chungmudong Intersection” (충무동교차로) bus stop.

Use the “Chungmudong Intersection (toward Songdo)” stop. All buses that stop here go to Amnamdong Community Center, and they run frequently — you shouldn’t wait long.

After getting off, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the cable car entrance.

Look out for Spa Heslaan — a large jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouse complex) that was renovated in March 2026. It’s a useful landmark: when you see it, you’re at the right stop.

When you reach the main road you’ll spot the gondolas in the air. About 10 minutes from the bus stop.

By Taxi — ~₩5,700 / ~11 min

A taxi from Jagalchi Station takes about 11 minutes and costs around ₩5,700. It drops you right at the entrance — the easiest option if you have bags or are travelling with young children.

My Crystal Cruise Ride — What It’s Actually Like

Here’s what to expect on the Crystal Cruise (glass-floor gondola), based on my own ride.

Crystal Cruise ticket

After buying your ticket, head up to the 4th-floor boarding platform.

4th floor cable car boarding area

Red line = Crystal Cruise, blue line = Air Cruise. Make sure you’re in the right queue.

Candy given to passengers at boarding

A candy is handed to each passenger at boarding — a nice touch (possibly to help with any pressure change in the ears).

Gondola door briefly opens as it leaves the platform

One thing that catches first-timers off guard: just as the gondola leaves the platform, the door briefly opens — then locks shut almost immediately. Completely normal. Then the ride begins.

View straight down through the Crystal Cruise glass floor at the sea

The crossing takes about 7 minutes. The glass floor lets you look straight down at the water — it’s legitimately thrilling in that vertigo-but-fun way that makes you want to stand in the corner and stare everywhere at once. Views of Songdo Beach, Yeongdo Island, and Hinjeouru Cultural Village spread all around, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Tsushima Island. For ₩5,000 more than the standard ticket, the Crystal Cruise is genuinely a no-brainer.

No food or drinks allowed inside the gondola

What to Do at Skypark

Skypark snack and cafe area

The Skypark (Amnam Park side) has plenty going on after you step off the gondola — snack stalls, a convenience store, and a restaurant, so there’s no rush to head straight back.

Observation Deck

Panoramic sea view from the Skypark observation deck

A wide open observation deck with panoramic views over the sea.

VR goggle swing ride at Skypark (₩5,000)

There’s also a VR goggle swing ride (₩5,000) for extra thrills.

The Little Prince sculpture at Skypark
Seagull photo spot — seagulls are Busan's official city bird

Photo spots include a Little Prince sculpture and a seagull installation (seagulls are Busan’s official city bird) — both easy wins for a good shot.

The Dino Zone (Yes, Really)

Dragon scale sculpture outside Skypark

Step outside the building and things get unexpected. Dragon-scale sculptures lead into a full Jurassic Park zone:

Jurassic Park-style dinosaur area at Skypark
Life-sized animatronic dinosaur models at Skypark

About 10 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs roaring away, next to a castle and a piano. Chaotic, loud, and oddly charming — kids will love it.

Amnam Park Viewpoint (My Favourite Spot)

Amnam Park viewpoint lookout tower

Walk about 5 minutes through Amnam Park and you reach a wide-open viewpoint surrounded by trees.

View from Amnam Park viewpoint looking toward Tsushima Island

On a clear day you can see all the way to Tsushima Island. Quiet, green, ocean spread below — this is honestly my favourite hidden spot in the whole Songdo area.

FAQ

Q. Do I need to book in advance, or can I just show up?

A. On quiet weekdays, walk-up is fine. For weekends, public holidays, and peak tourist season, queues at the counter can be long — in those cases, Klook pre-booking lets you skip the line (free cancellation before voucher redemption).

Q. Crystal Cruise or Air Cruise — which should I choose?

A. Crystal Cruise (glass floor) — easily. The round-trip price difference is only ₩5,000, and looking straight down through the glass at the ocean 86m below is an experience the standard gondola simply can’t match.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Adult round-trip: Air Cruise ₩19,000 / Crystal Cruise ₩24,000 (child: ₩14,000 / ₩18,000). One-way tickets also available. Prices as of June 2026.

Q. How long is the ride, and what are the opening hours?

A. The gondola ride is about 7 minutes one way. The cable car runs 9:00–21:00 (last ticket 30 min before closing). Add in Skypark and Amnam Park and you can easily fill half a day.

Q. How do I get there from Jagalchi Station?

A. By bus: get off at Amnamdong Community Center and walk about 10 minutes. By taxi: about 11 minutes, around ₩5,700 — drops you right at the entrance.

Q. Does it operate in the rain?

A. Light rain: yes. Strong wind or severe weather: operations may be suspended. Check the official website on the day before heading out.

Summary

Songdo Marine Cable Car is one of Busan’s most memorable experiences — an aerial ride above the sea with views stretching from Songdo Beach all the way to Yeongdo Island. Getting there from Jagalchi by bus or taxi is straightforward; tickets are easy to buy on-site, or pre-book on Klook for busy days. And the Skypark on the other side has enough to fill a half-day. One clear recommendation: take the Crystal Cruise. The glass-floor gondola is worth every won of the ₩5,000 upgrade.
