Right now in Seomyeon, Busan’s Lotte Department Store is hosting “The Signature Taste of Korea” — a limited-time food event running until June 18, 2026. The lineup: chefs from Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars (흑백요리사), a pop-up for Korean singer Song Si-gyeong’s alcohol brand, and a K-Dessert Fair pulling in the most talked-about sweets from across Korea. All on B1 and B2, directly connected to Seomyeon Station.
- Dates: June 1–18, 2026 (K-Dessert Fair: June 5–18 · timings may vary by vendor)
- Location: Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch (Seomyeon) — B1 & B2
- 9 chefs from Culinary Class Wars · Song Si-gyeong’s “Gyeong (경)” liquor pop-up
- Dessert pop-ups from across Korea — timed to the BTS ARIRANG concerts
① Culinary Class Wars Chefs — 9 Stars on B2
Nine chefs from Netflix’s hit Culinary Class Wars are serving their signature dishes on B2. The roster includes Jang Ho-jun’s sushi, Hwang Jin-sun’s shrimp toast (멘보샤), Kim Byeong-muk (the Yakitori King), and Lee Seung-jun’s “Cloud Dakgangjeong” — a crispy fried chicken that became one of the show’s most-talked-about dishes.
Chef in-store appearance dates can change. Around June 12 is the most stacked day for chef appearances — worth planning around if you have a favourite. Check the official channel for the latest schedule before heading over.
② Song Si-gyeong’s “Gyeong (경)” Liquor Pop-up
Korean singer Song Si-gyeong (성시경) — as well known for his love of food and drink as for his music — has his own alcohol brand called Gyeong (경). The range includes makgeolli (경 탁주 12°, Korean rice wine), a rosé, and a 51% whisky-style soju making its Busan debut here. The soju sold out its daily 20-set allocation within minutes of opening. Paired with dishes from Tamtam (땀땀) restaurant, it’s a full food-and-drink experience.
③ K-Dessert Fair — The Best Sweets in Korea, All in One Place
The B1 pop-up zone (June 5–18) brings together some of the most viral dessert vendors in Korea right now:
- Ichini Sando (이치니산도) — Gyeongju’s famous fruit sandwich shop (from ₩9,500)
- Kim Mocchi (김모찌) — the talked-about mochi shop from Gwangalli, Busan
- Pickbake (픽베이크) — cult egg tart shop from Seongsu, Seoul
- Gyeonggi Tteokjip (경기떡집) — makgeolli rice cakes, exclusive to this event
- OPS (옵스) — Busan’s beloved local bakery, with a limited-edition pop-up
The one I’m most curious about: Decibel (데시벨), a salt bun brand created by Korean food YouTuber Park Ttugi (박뚜기) — 400,000 subscribers, known for obsessive salt bread reviews. The brand launched in Seongsu, Seoul in September 2025 and sold out entirely on day one. Made with French butter and sea-salt-roasted techniques, with flavours ranging from classic to mentaiko mayo and crème brûlée.
