Today’s pick: Nakji-bokkeum (stir-fried octopus) at “Oryukdo Nakji”, a 1-minute walk from Exit 1 of Sasang Station on Busan’s light rail.
When it comes to Nakji-bokkeum in Busan, “Kkaemichip” is the most famous name — but my personal pick is this place!

Quick name etymology: Oryukdo (오륙도) is a Busan tourist attraction — a cluster of small islands that appear as 5 or 6 islands depending on the tide.
And “nakji” means “octopus” while “bokkeum” means “stir-fried”.

낙곱 / 낙새 (Nakgop / Naksae): 10,000 KRW
낙곱새 / 새우 / 곱창 (Nakgopsae / Saeu / Gopchang): 11,000 KRW
공기밥 (Gonggi-bap, rice bowl): 1,000 KRW
★ As of March 2026 ★
For example, Nakgopsae at 11,000 KRW contains…
Nakji (octopus), gopchang (tripe), and saeu (shrimp).
And Naksae at 10,000 KRW is…
Octopus + shrimp.
Pick whichever combo sounds best to you.

I ordered the crowd favorite Nakgopsae with a bowl of rice.
※ Rice is a separate add-on.
One quick tip:
Nakji-bokkeum is on the spicy side. If you don’t handle heat well, try saying:

The Nakgopsae arrives on the burner.
You can see plenty of shrimp, octopus, tripe, and japchae (glass noodles).

While it’s bubbling, a generous lineup of banchan arrives.
The Nakji-bokkeum is great, but the banchan here is seriously good too!

Pajeon: green-onion pancake
Gyeran-jjim: Korean steamed egg
My personal favorites are the pajeon and the gyeran-jjim!
The pajeon is tiny — but it’s seriously delicious.
Refills are free — if you want more, just ask.

Back to the Nakji-bokkeum…
Once it starts bubbling, the staff comes over to stir it.

When some of the liquid has cooked down, it’s ready to eat.
If you’re not sure, just ask the staff.
The longer it cooks, the spicier it gets — keep an eye on the flame.

Pile the Nakgopsae onto the rice and dig in!
The spicy-savory combo makes the rice disappear — refills mandatory!!

For my second bowl, I sprinkle on some dried seaweed flakes.
Tell the staff “Kimgaru juseyo (김가루 주세요)” and they’ll bring out a generous mound of seaweed flakes!
If you love Nakji-bokkeum, definitely add Oryukdo Nakji in Sasang to your list ★
